Summer Musical Theatre Project
Dear Friends and Supporters of the King Center Theatre for Youth Program,
The past few weeks have thrown us a major curve ball. The season was thriving then suddenly Covid-19 presented itself in a manner none of us expected. As a result, we were not able to finish the last two exciting shows. Although shortened, we are thankful to have completed most of our season and want to express our gratitude for your support enabling us to bring another season of live theatre to our youth and adult audience.
After much reflection over the past two months, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank Brevard Public School’s community, our home school, private schools and individuals for your unwavering support over the past two decades.
Recognizing this international health crisis, we must follow the guidelines that will guide our next steps going forward. Social distance… Live theatre does not allow us to be apart… live theatre brings us together, make memories, help us to understand the array of cultures that shape our community. This health crisis has changed the landscape we have worked so hard to cultivate.
As we look ahead to the new season, the health and safety of our guest is of the highest priority so we must adhere to the new guidelines of “social distance” directed from health officials, our city leaders and government officials. Things may not look the same, so please know how much we miss working with each of you. We are working behind the scene to develop the next season of arts and cultural program for our youth and young adults, regardless how big or small, we will continue to bring relevant and meaningful arts and cultural programs to our friends.
The arts feed our soul and will provide the bandage that will help heal the wounds of Covid19 as we look ahead to a brighter future. We want to stay connected with you so know our calendar of performances is forthcoming…possibly in a new simplified format for now. Looking ahead to a brighter future we ask for your patience as we navigate through these necessary changes and uncharted waters.
Our pledge to be there for you and asks for your continued support during this difficult time.
Blessings to our friends for good health and safety.
Yours in the arts
