Cameron Carpenter Lecture & Demonstration with students

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Cameron Carpenter captivated an avid group of music fans before his show on Thursday afternoon! Students were awed by his International Touring Organ – a monumental digital organ of his own design, playable throughout the world, complete with 16 huge speakers (including horns) and powered by three computers! Cameron’s intimate involvement in the development and design of the organ revealed his passion for organ music. He spoke of the rich history of the organ and its relationship to religion, science, space and the importance of education! He also gave an inspiring demonstration of the organs diverse capabilities and range of power. He was able to forge a deeper appreciation of the instrument to the multigenerational group in attendance. He answered questions, took pictures and some students had an up close and personal hands on experience with the International Touring Organ.
